Trend Report: Off-the-Shoulder Tops

It’s that time again… I am currently in bed drowning in self-pity over the flu that is trying to get the best of me. But I am not giving up girls. There I am writing you an article with yet another trend for this fall/winter season. To be fair, it is probably one of my favorites and of course I also put in some pieces here and there that suggest more Fall-fashion things that are very much in right now. I have my napkins and tea ready, so let’s get on with it…

First things first, I know some of you are probably going to say: “Hey it’s minus 5 degrees here, how do we wear off-the-shoulder?!” Well, there is always layering, but it is something that right now should be worn inside because all of us that are in the cold know how much of a bad idea it will be to go outside wearing a trend you love but get sick while trying. P.S. no that’s not how I got the flu. I was responsible enough, it just happened, okay? No judging…

Off-the-shoulder tops, dresses, cardigans, sweater everything you can think of has been done this season. I am sure all of you ladies have seen numerous variations of this trend. No matter, the weather those variations are sticking through the cold weather and let’s admit it. We all love it, anyways.

Even though, this trend doesn’t necessarily hurt our tiny community, for once. I am including just because I do adore it and there is always ways to make even a top like that make it appear as if we are taller than we actually are.

The first outfit was definitely inspired by the fading fall colors. The top is in the currently trendy fall floral scheme and has a bit of lace which is always plus. The darker colors don’t make the lace look too much the style of the top helps it to be flowy and elegant. The top is cropped, paired with high-waisted jeans for a bit of an illusion on the height spectrum. In addition, we have my trusty Adidas white sneakers. Trust me, they are literally one of my most comfortable shoes. I mean we did shoot in a forest, comfort over everything, right. Though, in this case, my shoes are pretty much Insta-worthy. I know, I have seen the pictures. Finally, to top it all off, I put on a choker. The biggest trend this season, by far. Everyone is obsessed with them including me. But don’t forget my shorties. Thinner chokers are better for out height as they don’t overpower the neck.

Let’s get to the second one now, shall we? In that one, we are back in my photographer’s creepy basement, where all scary. Halloween vibes,  I tell you… This outfit has a top that’s a bit more dressy and even more flowy. The top is in a nude color, which is also fairly popular in this Fall/Winter’s color palette. Completed with a pair of high-waisted jeans, per usual (illusions, illusions).  The Adidas shoes are on again, plus the choker and there we are. Ready to rock… I don’t know why but this outfit is a bit rock chick to me, maybe the lipstick adds to it.

So there you have it, ladies. I hope every one of you ladies can take some inspiration and create some of your own off-the-shoulder creations. I want to give a huge shout-out to Zhanina who made the photos for this post. Go check her out on Flickr

Until next time my tiny and lazy fashionistas…
